West Chicago Street Reconstruction

Complete reconstruction of West Chicago Street, from west of the Sturgis Road intersection to Sheffer Street, began in March 2018 with a completion date of June 28, 2019. Complete Concrete, Inc. of Rapid City was the prime contractor of the $9.5 million project, with 42,650 sy of PCCPaving. In conjunction with the road construction, the city of Rapid City installed new water main and sanitary sewer lines to replace old infrastructure. The construction also included bridge deck rehabilitation and bridge widening to build a sidewalk. The sidewalk was constructed along the entire length of the project.
